I certainly have taken a long hiatus from this here blog thingy. What’s my excuse? A hint: it’s one of the developments below, each of which I’ll treat at length during my first week back-to-blog. In no particular order:
- I’ve lost twenty-five pounds. As it happens, lots of things taste better than being thin feels. More on Monday.
- I took on a new role at work. What happens when an erstwhile “individual contributor” becomes a “people manager”? Not much that’s bloggable, if you’re at all ethical, but I’ll attempt some general musings on Tuesday.
- I got both boys skiing. It sounds like an afternoon’s amusement but was actually a months-long campaign against their apathy, bizarre weather, and my better instincts. Details on Wednesday.
- I got a Kindle. On Thursday: the good, the bad, and why I won’t be trading it in for an iPad.
- I got cancer. That will have to wait until Friday, but no worries; I’ll still be around.

OMG. Denise. I hope you are firmly and forever in remission now, or at least well on that road.
I won’t be trading my Kindle, either.
I’m looking forward to your return. You have my best wishes for a full recovery.

Oh gosh. I was liking these until I hit #5. I’ll be waiting anxiously for all of your updates, and wishing you well in the meantime.
We tried to get our son on skis this past winter and it was totally the same deal here, except we let apathy win. He’s just turned 3, so he’s definitely on the young side, but I was surprised he was so uninterested. Will be interested to see if you have any tips that might help us next year!

Oh, I’m glad to see you’re back, but sorry to hear about the cancer. I’m looking forward to reading your updates.

I feel I must defend Dog here - the title of this post is misleading and defamatory. To insinuate that Dog ate or in any other way damaged or somehow prevented you from blogging is just going to cause undue hurt and shame for poor, loving, needy Dog. I recognize that you clarify the true reasons for lack of blogging in the content of the post – but do you really think he is going to get that far? I think he is going to see the title and go weep in His Place – with loads of napkins for comfort food.

PS - anxiously awaiting promised postings for Tuesday and today
Or did Dog eat those, too?
